On December 5, the School of Automation and Electrical Engineering and the University's Research Office jointly hosted a seminar on computational intelligence in the era of large models. Professors Guo Yinan of China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), Wang Handing of Xidian University, Zhang Huaiwen of Inner Mongolia University, and Shi Lei of Henan University delivered academic presentations. Early-career faculty and graduate students attended the seminar, which was chaired by Yan Li, Vice Dean of the School.

Before the presentations, Zhu Yongsheng, Executive Dean of the School, presented certificates for the Hongde Lecture Series to the invited experts. The speakers then shared recent research on topics including dynamic multi-objective optimization that balances performance and efficiency, data-driven optimization for expensive industrial black-box problems, social-media content governance and risk management in the context of generative artificial intelligence, and secure collaborative localization that resists network attacks in unmanned swarms.

The presentations combined theoretical analysis with practical applications and introduced the audience to current research questions in computational intelligence, optimization, generative AI, network security, and intelligent systems. Participants engaged in discussion with the experts and gained a deeper understanding of relevant frontier directions.

The seminar strengthened academic exchange and cooperation between the School and peer institutions. It also provided useful support for disciplinary development, scientific research, and the cultivation of students with interdisciplinary and innovation-oriented capabilities.
