In the 2025 "Huawei Cup" 22nd China Graduate Mathematical Modeling Competition, students from the School achieved another strong set of results. The School of Automation and Electrical Engineering won a total of nine national awards, including four national second prizes and five national third prizes.

The China Graduate Mathematical Modeling Competition is jointly organized by the degree and graduate-education authorities of the Ministry of Education and other relevant organizations. It is a major national graduate innovation-practice competition. This year's event attracted more than 24,000 teams from over 600 higher-education institutions, providing graduate students with a broad platform for applying mathematical modeling methods to practical problems.
The School has consistently promoted the principles of using competition to advance research, ability development, and learning. It has strengthened organization, mentoring, and training for graduate innovation competitions. In 2025, the School's graduate students received a total of fifteen national awards and fifty-four regional awards in various graduate innovation-practice competitions.
The School will continue to improve its competition-support mechanism, deepen the integration of competition participation with curriculum reform and specialty development, and enhance the quality of graduate education. It will encourage more students to develop innovation awareness, practical competence, and the ability to address complex problems through disciplinary competitions.
